Project Manager for design, installation, operation and monitoring of a vacuum extraction system to remove petroleum products from the vadose zone. The cleanup was achieved in one year and subsequent to approval of the closure report, the VES was dismantled and removed.

Directed and supervised design analyses and permitting of a vacuum extraction system (VES) to remove trichloroethylene (TEC) from the vadose zone before it reaches the drinking water aquifer under site (listed on the NPL due to importance of the aquifer). Subsequently, acquired the parts and the tools and installed and operated the system while periodically monitoring the exhaust emissions. This was the first VES in California to cleanup the site and remove it from the NPL. Subsequently prepared RI/FS (Remedial Investigation / Feasibility Study) and associate closure and post-closure monitoring. Also directed post-closure monitoring and evaluations and certified the site closure report.

Directed and supervised Remedial Investigation / Feasibility Study (RI/FS) for the former industrial site with known releases of PCE (tetra-chloroethylene) and other chlorinated solvents. Subsequently designed, purchased and assembled, and operated and monitored a vacuum extraction system (VES) for cleanup of the vadose zone. The cleanup was achieved in approximately 6 months, and was followed up by past remediation monitoring and closure report.
